Amber is a beautiful highly translucent yellow-orange brown colour it comes from the resin of coniferous trees that date back millions of years ago. This golden gem isn’t derived from a mineral but an organic process that has taken millions of years to form. In its original state resin is a sticky thick liquid like substance that would run down the tree collecting inclusions from anything that was in its path. It’s for this reason that bits of bark, flora, fauna can be found within its structure. Some of the most valuable pieces of Amber have whole intact insects or flowers that have long been extinct, perfectly preserved within the golden gemstone.
